The Matchbox Maserati MC12, a must have casting for diecast collectors interested in hypercars - I managed to get my hands on one by Matchbox and it was truly worth it!

Image
Maserati was a company in its own right that manufactured racers in the distant past like Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage that raced other famous racers like the Jaguar D-type in its heyday. In the mid 2000s, Maserati was under the Ferrari licence and Ferrari had made the Ferrari F60 (Enzo) and later the Ferrari Fxx. However, Ferrari realised that Maserati needed its own car, hence they reused the same engine as in the Enzo and gave the new Maserati a new chassis and body around the same engine that powered the Enzo. In practice though, they detuned the Maserati's engine slightly so that it would not be on par with the Enzo in performance. Even so, in BBC's Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson commented that the detuning did nothing to reduce its performance. Indeed, the MC12 looks absolutely beautiful as a car in its own right when placed alongside the Ferrari Enzo and Ferrari Fxx.          Recently, I got a Matchbox version of the MC12 and I decided...

Why are the fruits of Colonial influence greatest in the South of India compared to its Northern areas - the funnel theory

Image
India is a country which is a mosaic of different ethnicities, languages, cultures and religions. Historically, it is located at a very strategic location of trade routes linking China with the West. Much of what is Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan now were once a part of India. This makes India a melting pot of cultures spanning across several millennia and this makes India that much more unique and special as a rich land. While the modern political scenario of India is one which seeks to vilify and portray India's colonial past in the worst possible way and its proponents seek to do everything in their power to spread this anti-colonial mindset among our country's masses especially in the North. Colonialism in India never began with modern European powers landing in India from the 1600's, rather it began much earlier going back to the dawn of time with the Aryan immigration from Central Asia - something which is currently being denied by Hindutuv...

The Christian doctrine of Trinity as opposed to the Islamic Tawheed - Is simplicity really a measure of truth as claimed by the proponents of the latter and what are its implications in the real world?

Image
The doctrine of the Holy Trinity is what is at the core of mainstream Christian doctrine. It is the core theological doctrine that helps us understand the other doctrines around it. While Jesus in the canonical Gospels presents the persons of the Trinity individually as in the case of the Holy Spirit as being a distinct person from the Father and Jesus Himself (The Son of God the Father) as well as in 1 verse which is Matthew 28:19 where Jesus gives His disciples the "Great Commission" which is to carry the message of the Gospel far and wide and make disciples of all men baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the New Testament, Jesus also goes on to explain that unless He (Jesus) goes back to heaven, the Father would not send the Holy Spirit to the world who would lead Jesus' followers into all the truths of the Bible as they read them in John 14:16. The Trinity makes perfect sense when we take into account the events i...

Does the Bible abet violence and forced conversions of people to Christianity against their will?, why then did the Colonials do so and even violently kill tribespeople in the Americas?

Image
This is a blog entry that I wished to write on this topic for a long time. Too many proponents of the Hindutuva ideology in India (and also Muslims around the world in response to Christians making the well-founded statement that Islam spread by the sword historically) not only believe but spread lies about Christianity being inherently violent and they usually point to events like the Portuguese conversion of Hindus in Goa to Catholicism for instance or the destruction of native American tribes at the hands of the White people (Spaniards, French, Dutch and English) who settled in those countries. My objective here is not to deny that these violent events happened, rather to point out that violence was neither abetted by Christ in the Gospels nor did Jesus' first disciples and apostles resort to the use of weapons and organised use of fear to spread Christianity the same way Islam's first followers did for instance.  i) The Beginnings - Jesus and t...

King Charles' big botch up in his refusal to wish Christians a Happy Resurrection Sunday this year and what it means for the doctrine of Apostolic Succession

Image
Recently, something happened that stirred up quite a buzz not just in the UK but also among netizens and that news was being circulated in Youtube videos, both shorts and long ones alike. It was the fact that King Charles-III of the UK failed to wish Christians across the Commonwealth a Happy Easter or as I would like to wish people in my life a "Happy Resurrection Sunday", as was his routine given his duties as not just the King of England but also the head of the Angelican church of England. Many Christians including myself were not just beside ourselves when we saw what was happening but it was insightful nonetheless of the changing values not just in the British Royal family but also in the UK at large. Yes, there are still Christians in England who love Jesus Christ with all their hearts and thankfully so but Islam is also making inroads into British life and politics because of unchecked immigration under leftist politicians like Keith Starmer or t...

Have Online Social Media platforms become puppets in the hands of certain protected groups of people in the West and is this doing justice to free speech?

Image
In today's world, some social media platforms are ruling the roost when it comes to popularity and when you have such platforms where you can be allowed to create an account for yourself, you have to first go through and familiarise yourself with the terms and conditions. Back when a friend of mine created an account for me back in my college days in some social media platforms many of which are no longer up and running. Nobody brought up anything pertaining to a certain terminology called "Hate speech" which is a term that was created to protect the interests of certain groups like Muslims, LGBTQ groups etc, especially the former. Over time, the social media platforms that did stand the test of time to outlast their competitors eventually brought up regulations which at first glance, appear to stand up for and uphold the rights of certain groups of people that were deemed to be oppressed but are these groups truly oppressed, if th...
