October 7th 2023 was a horrible day in Israel, a day as horrendous as September 11th 2001 was for the US and the world. If anything, it shows that the world and Israel have a common enemy in Islamic terrorism. Many in the West especially Western Muslims nowadays tend to downplay the role of Islam in religious terrorism by making dangerous blanket statements like "Terrorism has no religion" which is picked up by Western Leftists and shouted from the rooftops in the face of the obvious - the vast majority of religious terrorism in the world is by terrorist outfits that do them in the name of 1 worldview - Islam. Immediately, Muslims try to point to one-off cases like some terror groups in North Eastern India that supposedly label themselves "Christian" or the 2019 shooting in New Zealand by a white person who never even identified as a Christian to begin with, although some Leftists in the West used it to make a moot point of terrorism not having any religion in order to defend Islam. However, this does not address the elephant in the room that more than 98% of religious terrorism in the world is committed in the name of Islam. If we leave Islam aside, we are left with Mexican drug cartels, Italian mafia, Maoists, Hindutuva-based RSS and some really fringe tribal militia in the North East of India who because of their ancient tribal, war-like ways have not abandoned the use of weapons to assert their dominance in the region in the name of Christianity, when in fact Jesus never teaches Christians in the New Testament to wage war on other religious groups in a bid to convert them to Christianity violently unlike in Islam where Muhammad orders Muslims to violently subjugate the world in the name of Islam prior to his passing in Quran 9:29 famously called "The Sword Verse" which we will see further below.On the contrary, Jesus orders Christians to preach but not to force or use incentives to gain converts to Christianity.
Anyone having spoken to Muslims on social media regarding Oct 7 being the starting point of the recent military operation in Gaza by the IDF, when Muslims accuse Israel and the Jews of many killing millions of children in Gaza (as grounds for inciting anti-Jewish hatred against them), would have heard Muslims taking the conflict even further back to something like the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 to justify Hamas' attack on the kibbutzes of Southern Israel on the 8th of October 2024. In the wake of the attacks, we would have noticed unanimous support from Muslims across the world, even if they have not met a Jew in their entire lives, for Hamas which is a terrorist organisation and has been designated as such by many countries around the world, while they support Gaza and the Palestinians in their war against Israel, they try to avoid mentioning "Hamas", however, Gaza is ruled by Hamas which is a terrorist outfit for which elimination of Israel as a state is just the start of their end goal and according to a poll conducted in Gaza some years ago, 70% of Gazans (especially Muslims as the majority of Palestinians are Muslims) hate the Jews and Israel and support Hamas. Hamas' actual end goal as stated in article 4 of its charter is the total annihilation of every last Jew on Earth. Hence the end goal of Hamas, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad and other terrorist organisations operating out of Gaza is not related to the existence of the state of Israel, at least not just, but also the destruction of Jewry across the world, hence the purpose of their existence is not about the existence of Israel as a state but the existence of Jews as a race. In this stated end goal, there is therefore no difference between Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Boko Haram, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Hizbollah, Muslim Brotherhood etc, and there are all united by 1 worldview-Islam (Sunni or Shi'a).
My goal in this article is to prove historically that Islamic Jew hatred goes back to the Islamic sources and was a part and parcel of Islam since its inception under Muhammad - its prophet in stark contrast to Muslim claims that the violence of Oct 7 2023 merely goes back to the inception of the state of Israel. I will give the timelines of this Jew hatred and show proof from Non-Muslim and Muslim historical sources regarding the Quranic and authentic Hadith-centered origins of this Jew hatred inherently present in Islam as a belief system. I will trace the roots of this hatred in descending order in a chronological timeline from before the establishment of the state of Israel which Muslims around the world cite as the primary reason why Jews are hated by them leading to the events in October 7th 2023 and will trace it in reverse back to the man Muhammad himself.
i) During World War-II:
In stark contrast to what modern Muslims would tell Westerners, Jews and Christians, the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 which happened a full 3-years after World War-II was by no means the starting point of Islamic hatred of Jews. Yasser Arafat, founder and chairman of the PLO's uncle was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem during World War-II - Amin Al-Husseini who was a close friend and confidant of Hitler was the one who gave Hitler the idea of the "Endlösung der Judenfrage (Final Solution of the Jewish Question)". Hitler's original intent regarding European Jewry is only to deport them but it took Husseini's persuasion to get Hitler to come to the idea of the Holocaust. Husseini told Hitler that if the Jews were deported, they would return to the Holy Land to re-establish the state of Israel which happened eventually anyway after World War-II, so Husseini was the one who convinced Hitler to go ahead with the Holocaust which led to the deaths of countless Jews in Nazi death camps in World War-II. It must be remembered that Husseini was also responsible for the creation of 2 SS units - "SS Handschar" and "SS Mountain division" composed entirely of Muslims from the Holy Land and the Balkans who caught and deported countless Jews to extermination camps in Poland like Auschwitz-Birkenau, Treblinka, Moldenek etc, Husseini was also responsible for Arab Muslim uprisings in the Holy Land which led to Jews being killed there during the British Mandate of Palestine. Now, when Hamas leaders deny that the Holocaust ever happened, they are not just dishonouring the memories of Jews who died under Hitler and are incidentally calling the efforts of Arafat's uncle Husseini a failure - it actually reflects a darker side of their character that regrets and bemoans the fact that the Holocaust failed in its intended purpose which is the total extermination of the world's Jews, how vile and evil!
ii) Under countries ruled by Muslims in Europe, India, North Africa and in the Middle East (Late Middle Age to Early Modern Age):
While many speak of the Catholic Inquisition's role in the persecution of the Jews in the Iberian peninsula which led to Christopher Columbus' (a Jew) voyage to the new world that led to the discovery of North America. The Iberian peninsula, Eastern Europe, Holy Land and North Africa were attacked and ruled by Muslims after Islam's inception in 7th century Arabia for many hundreds of years. While European countries (except for some Balkan countries) largely fell back into Christian hands, North Africa and the Holy Land were under Islamic rule for a longer duration of time starting from the conquest of the Holy Land by the Muslims under the 2nd caliph, companion and successor of Muhammad of the Rashidun Caliphate - Umar in AD 637 whose later successors went on to conquer much of Christian North Africa from Egypt to Algeria and beyond - a region once rich with vineyards and Roman roads much of which was reduced to desert after the Islamic conquests and whose inhabitants - the Berbers were forced to become Muslims at the edge of the sword.
It must be noted that Spain was under the Ummayad Caliphate which later fell in other Islamic lands to the Abbasid Caliphate. The Abbasids who had their capital at Baghdad, Iraq hated the Ummayads whose Caliphate was based in Damascus, Syria also because of Islamic doctrinal differences. Still, even though Spain, a region known as "Al-Andalus" to Islam was ruled by the Ummayad Caliphate for around 900 years, the other Islamic lands were ruled by the Abbasid Caliphate. Islamic sources themselves confirm the mistreatment of Jews and Christians under the Ummayads. As per one Islamic chronicler Ghazi Ibn Al-Wasiti, a caliph named Umar ordered that Christians and Jews ride horses without saddles, Christians and Jews were forbidden from entering public baths except after Islamic prayers on Friday and that they were ordered to have Muslim overseers who proclaim the name of Allah and Muhammad over an animal being slain every time the Jews and Christians slew an animal. Grenada in Spain was 1 territory ruled by Muslims and in Dec 30, AD 1066 over 4000 Jews were killed by the Muslims because the latter did not like to be ruled by a Jew and the homes of the Jews were plundered by the Muslims, the ruler "Joseph ibn Naghrila" himself was crucified by the Muslims. In AD 1100, a Muslim governor and poet of Seville by the name of Ibn Abdun created rules for Muslims to be followed with respect to how Muslims treat Jews and Christians -
i) A Muslim must not be a masseur to a Jew or a Christian.
ii) A Muslim must not clear or clean the latrines of Jews and Christians, rather make Jews and Christians clean toilets as they were better suited for those jobs (as a sign of Islamic humiliation of both groups for rejecting Islam. This is still followed in Pakistan where Christians are regarded as toilet and street cleaners).
iii) A Muslim must never be a stableman of a Jew or a Christian or hold the stirrups for a donkey ridden by a Jew or Christian.
iv) It is forbidden to sell a coat that once belonged to a leper, Jew or a Christian unless the owner is informed of its origin (associating the identity of being a Jew and Christian with that of a Leper-in order to humiliate both Jews and Christians).
v) Jews and Christians are forbidden from dressing up like aristocrats, jurists or a wealthy individual, instead the Muslims are to disgrace them and not wish peace upon them (the Salam). Christians and Jews are to bear a sign on them that shows that they are second-class citizens to show their disgrace as opposed to Muslims.
If the dhimmis (Jews and Christians under Muslim rule) violated any of the above conditions, they could be sold into slavery or killed which happened in AD 1126. Young girls of Christian and Jewish background were sold off as sex-slaves for Harems and Jewish and Christian boys were also treated as sex-slaves or used as eunuchs after being castrated and used as such for Muslim harems. This was also followed by the Ottoman Turks whenever they attacked Eastern Europe and took Christian girls and boys as sex-slaves, the boys were also castrated, indoctrinated and later used as soldiers in future Jihadi expeditions against Eastern Europe - a type of dreaded soldiers called "Janissaries". The Slavs in fact, are so-called because the name comes from Arabic "saqlaba" meaning "Slave". Christians and Jews under Muslim rule were forbidden from holding positions of power or treating Muslims if they were physicians, preach or build new synagogues or churches or even ring bells during important days. When a Muslim crosses a Christian or a Jew on the road, the Christian or Jew was supposed to walk in the gutter to let the Muslim walk on the road as a disgrace for not becoming Muslim. Sometimes, Christians and Jews were forced to wear patches bearing images of monkeys (for Jews) and pigs (for Christians) and an image of a monkey was fastened to their door posts as attested by the eleventh century Muslim historian Al-Maliki. Mostly, I have mentioned instances here where Jews and Christians are largely persecuted and insulted for simply being Jews and Christians but the fact is that too many Jews and Christians were put to death by the Muslims under Islamic rule even if they did so much as stand firmly on their beliefs in the face of Muslim opposition.
iii) The beginnings of Islam's hatred for the Jews - from its god "Allah" and its man "Muhammad":
Muhammad modelled his religion based on all the belief systems that surrounded him (Arab paganism, stories from Judaism and Christianity's sources (some of the stories copied to the Quran originate from sources which no mainstream Christian or Jew believes as authentic) and Zoroastrianism, and in case Jews, Christians and other groups living in Arabia and beyond rejected Islam which we rightfully did, Muhammad added a cherry on top of his mash-up of pre-existing belief systems which he named Islam (and what a bloody cherry it was!) -this cherry is his commands to take over the world for Islam by whatever means possible from simple arguments and insulting the belief systems of others to offering incentives for conversion to especially waging war (Jihad) against infidels (Kaffirun), i.e., non-Muslims, this is summed up by the passage in one of the most trusted and authentic Hadiths named "Sahih Muslim" 22, book 1, Hadith 36 . There are 2 main types of Jihad against infidels - Jihad Al-Dif'a (defensive Jihad) and Jihad At Talab (offensive Jihad). Jihad Al-Dif'a is seen in countries where Muslim populations are large enough for them to defend their beliefs by fighting back against mockery, derision or any attack on them whereas Jihad At Talab (or "Jihad of the pursuit") is usually only carried out by Muslims when the latter are the majority in any country like in Arabia, Pakistan or Bangladesh.
It has been narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah said:
"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), nor acknowledge the religion of truth (Islam), of the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued" - Quran 9:29
Another important verse is Quran 5:51 in which Muhammad forbids Muslims in Allah's name from being friends with Jews and Christians, unless it were a kind of protection from harm (for instance, when Muslims are the minority in any country). As for what happens when Muslims are the majority in any land, we need not look further than Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Egypt etc where Christians are not allowed to preach the Gospel and even worse - not allowed to build churches, by extension, this also applies to Jews when it comes to building synagogues in Muslim countries. This explains historically why the percentage of Jews and Christians drops in Muslim majority countries over many hundreds of years to the point where Jews and Christians either leave Muslim lands for Christian lands where they enjoy greater freedom or are killed or convert to avoid being persecuted by the Muslim majority in those countries. It must be noted here that only Arab Muslims in Israel do not seek to harm Jews and these are hated by the majority of Muslims who hate Jews and are therefore better Muslims as per Muhammad and the Islamic sources. In essence, moderate Muslims who are nice are good human beings but bad Muslims but the terrorists represent Islam's true face as Muhammad's life towards the end reflected the terrorist lifestyle of forcing people to convert at the edge of the sword, hence Muslims who emulate Muhammad towards the end of his life are good Muslims as per Muhammad but are bad human beings - like terrorists. In short, following the Islamic sources to the dot and t without reinterpretation makes a Muslim a bad human being but a good follower of Muhammad as per Muhammad's own words because Muhammad extolled Jihad as the highest virtue and the only surfire way for Muslims to enter their heaven - this is why Islam is pure evil and is not good for the world.
"O you who have believed (Muslims), do not take the Jews and Christians as friends and allies. They are friends and allies of each other. And whoever is a friend and an ally to them among you-then indeed, he is one of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people". Quran 5:51.
The background of the above verse was the battle of Badr which was a battle waged by Muhammad against 1 of the 3 Jewish tribes living in Medina (Banu Quaynuqa, Banu Nadir and Banu Qurayza) which was the Banu Quaynuqa. Muhammad had made a Covenant with the above Jewish tribes which he eventually regretted because that prevented him from inviting them to Islam failing which he either wanted to banish them from Medina or kill them and he claimed to have received a revelation from Allah saying that even if Muhammad feared that the Jews would break the terms of the treaty, then Muhammad and his men were free to kill or expel them from the land, this is how the Battle of Badr started. There was a Muslim merchant who had business ties with the Banu Quaynuqa and Muhammad did not like that which is why he said the verse in Quran 5:51 as if it were a revelation from his Allah. Muhammad tried to threaten the Jews into becoming Muslims else threatened them with war and hellfire after death, by which the Jews were in the least bit swayed in their determination to fight the mad, demon-possessed tyrant. Long story short, many in the Jewish tribe of Quaynuqa were killed and the rest expelled as with the second tribe of Banu Nadir later, a Jewish poet who mocked Muhammad ended up getting beheaded by 1 of Muhammad's men "Muhammad bin Maslama" under orders from Muhammad when he had mocked Muhammad and wrote poetry mocking him, Maslama asked for permission from Muhammad to lie to the Jew in order to kill him and Muhammad gave him permission to do so and the Jewish poet was beheaded. However, the tribesmen of the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza were not so fortunate because around 900 of them ended up getting beheaded in the marketplace of Medina and their wives, sisters and daughters were forced into sex-slavery by Muhammad and his men.
iv) The Khaybar raid:
Later during the Khaybar raid which was done on the Jews of a place named Khaybar in Arabia by Muhammad and his men. A Jewish man named Kinana who was the head of the tribe of Jews in Khaybar was cruelly killed by Muhammad and his men who kindled a fire on his chest and tortured him till he was almost dead and then struck off his head with a sword. Muhammad and his men were after a treasure of which they only got one part but they wanted all of it. Muhammad expelled most of the Jews at Khaybar, except the poor farmers who were later found to have some treasures, so Muhammad had them expelled but had his men take all their women as sex slaves, Kinana's Jewish wife Saffiya who incidentally happened to catch the attention of Muhammad's men for her beauty was given by them to Muhammad whom he eventually married and with whom he consummated his marriage the same night as he was travelling in the desert and suddenly pitched a tent near an oasis.
v) Baaaaaaaht...ahem but Poisoned Mutton to the rescue (references - Sahih Al Bukhari 2617, book 51, Hadith 49; Sahih Al-Bukhari 4428, book 64, Hadith 450; Quran 69:44-47)
Just like Saffiya, another Jewish lady named "Zaynab bint al Harith" whose family's men including her father, husband and brothers were also killed by Muhammad and his men was also married off to Muhammad at Khaybar. Zaynab was asked to prepare food for Muhammad and his men and she hatched a plan, as she dressed the mutton leg she added some poison to it before serving it to Muhammad and his men. One of Muhammad's men bit it and fell down dead just as Muhammad had also bitten and swallowed a bit of the mutton's leg. On seeing his companion die, Muhammad put on an act saying the mutton he ate had informed him that it was poisoned, spat whatever he could of the mutton that he ended up swallowing while some of the poisoned mutton got into his system anyway sealing his fate after 4 years of suffering. Muhammad then asked her why she did what she did and she responded saying that Muhammad and his men killed all the men in her family and wanted revenge stating that if Muhammad truly were a prophet, the poison would not work on him (and she was right in guessing that poison would not affect a true man of God) and that if he were a tyrannical king which Muhammad was, the poison would get rid of him. Muhammad then ordered his men to put her to death. 4 years later, Muhammad died claiming to his child bride Ayesha that the poisoned meat that he ate at Khaybar had severed his aorta which incidentally happens to be the same way Muhammad had once claimed how Allah would kill false prophets (Quran 69:44-47). This is yet another reason why Jews are hated by Muslims throughout the centuries since Islam's beginnings and are blamed for every silly mishap that happens to the Muslims.
From the above points, we can infer that Israel's re-establishment in 1948 as the Jewish state was NOT the reason for October 7th 2023 attack by Hamas on the kibbutzes of Southern Israel as these superficial justifications of political nature seek to mislead the international community at large as the primary contributing factor of the violence when in fact the establishment of the state of Israel and what is deemed by Muslims around the world as "The Occupation" is merely secondary in nature as Muslim grounds for Jew-hatred when compared to the deeper underpinnings of this hatred that has its roots in their Islamic worldview, as this Muslim hatred of Jews goes all the way back in history as a bloody trail to the man Muhammad himself and his interactions with the Jews in Arabia which was far from peaceful because Muhammad had intended to convert the world to Islam starting with the Jews first then Christians and polytheists but Muhammad's message turned hostile to the Jews, Christians and polytheists when these groups to which we belong rejected Islam. Muhammad's hatred for the Jews called Bani Israel (People of Israel) aka the Yehudim (Jews) was particularly pronounced, stemming from Muhammad's frustrations of getting them to become Muslims which failed spectacularly thereby explaining Muhammad's spectacular hatred for Jews which he codified as a divine order by Allah to muslims which they follow religiously till date - this hatred was further exacerbated by the circumstances of Muhammad's death in the hands of a Jewess who merely took revenge on him for killing off the men in her family, for her it was tit-for-tat, Muhammad got what was coming to him for his unruly, oppressive behaviour towards many people groups of Arabia starting with her people- the Jews and her immediate family but for Muhammad and his followers, it was the spark that started centuries of distrust and indescribable hatred endorsed by Allah himself via Muhammad in their sources for the Jews leading up to the Holocaust under Hitler suggested to Hitler himself by Yasser Arafat's uncle Amin Al-Husseini to Oct 7th 2023 extending up to the present - an unending hatred for all of time that is summed by the following passages in the authentic Hadiths (biographies) of Sahih Muslim and Sahih al Bukhari. The verse below explains why the Palestinian identity was created by Yasser Arafat with the KGB's help in the 1960s to continue the fight till the Jews are expelled from Israel and killed for which countries like Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon sent Arab Muslims who were named "Palestinians" by Arafat to continue the struggle in the West Bank and in and around Israel. This is also the real reason why Egypt and other Muslim lands did not take in Gazans as refugees when Israel invaded Gaza in response to Hamas' attack on Southern Israel on the 7th of October, 2023 - taking fellow Muslims in would mean the end of the Palestinian cause which would spell disaster for Muhammad's plan for the Middle East as we see below because his intent was to totally Islamise the Middle East which is the first step towards Islamic end time prophecies being fulfilled as per Muslims. -
It has been narrated by 'Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:
I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim. (Sahih Muslim reference - 1767a, in-book reference - Book 32, Hadith 75).
Now for the coup de grâce which sums up when this war with the Jews would end and it is by no means the end of the existence of the state of Israel as we will see below. This is taken from the other authentic Hadith "Sahih Al-Bukhari" widely accepted by Muslim scholars and Muslims throughout the centuries-
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The Hour will not be established until you (Muslims) fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him." Reference - Sahih al-Bukhari 2926, in-book reference: book 56, Hadith 139.
The above passage is what is found in article 4 of Hamas' Charter. Hence the Jewish people fighting against Hamas know that they are fighting for their very existence beyond just their rights to live in their own ancestral land in peace from which the Romans under Titus had expelled them in AD 70 after which the Muslims took over the land under Caliph Umar in AD 637. From the above, it becomes abundantly clear that political reasons cited by Palestinians and Muslims around the world like Israel's re-establishment as a state in 1948 are secondary reasons for their hatred towards the Jews, the primary reason being the anti-Jewish hatred enshrined in the Islamic religious books like the Quran, Ahadith and Sira literature. My purpose for writing this article is not to get anyone to hate Muslims or seek their harm but for non-Muslims to be equipped with the truth not just in the area of Islam and themselves but also in the area of Islam and the Jewish people, Israel etc. I hope that I have achieved that through this article.
Our motivation as non-Muslims must be to be informed with the truth instead of falling aprey to deceitful devices and being misled before being slaughtered or victimised but also to show Muslims why Islam is not good for the world and that they need to consider leaving it keeping in mind the darkness that Islam gives off as an ideology as well as by pointing to Muslims the abject inaccuracies of Islam's claims like its denial of Jesus' crucifixion in the face of overwhelming historical evidence in support of Jesus' crucifixion which is the single most well established event in all of history by countless historians, both pagan and Christian, ancient and modern, as well as the other scientific, historical and doctrinal inaccuracies in the Quran clarified by the Bible including why Muhammad cannot be a prophet because he was an Arab and not a Jew and the Bible makes it clear that all the Biblical prophets would be Jews. Moreover, Muhammad wielded a sword to get the whole world to convert to his faith which is precisely how a false prophet would act unlike true Biblical prophets whose words and miracles spoke for themselves that they were used by Judeo-Christian God Yahweh who is not the same as the Islamic "Allah" as Muslims claim, and this violent way is how Islam spread historically whereas the vast majority of peaceful Muslims in the world seem to be misled and deceived in thinking that Muhammad was a very good human being which even their Islamic sources soundly deny. In short, Islam is the problem as an ideology, the world would be a better and more peaceful place without it, therefore Muslims should seriously consider leaving Islam and our role as non-Muslims is to aid them in this regard - this is what I believe.
