In defence of JD Vance's statement on hoping to see his wife Usha become a Christian one day while not slandering her Hindu faith.

JD Vance, the Vice President of the US is a big person in the US after Trump when it comes to geopolitics, of course and based on how I have heard him speaking in public about His Christian faith as a fellow brother in Christ, I see him as a man of deep-seated conviction regarding his Christian beliefs. There is a chance that Vance might actually run for president in the future as a Republican nominee, now whether or not he actually plans to run for president in the future remains to be seen. Vance, as a lot of people might know already, is married to an Indian Hindu lady by the name of Usha from the state of Andhra Pradesh whose parents had immigrated to the US legally years ago to whom she was born. This clearly shows that she is from an educated background and that her parents did not resort to unlawful means to immigrate to the US like some North Indians travelling across the Mexico border to the US without any papers who recently got sent back to India on board a plane and rightfully so because they sought to get into the US though illegal means.

In a Charlie Kirk's Turning Point America meeting, Vance explained how he met his wife, fell in love despite their cultural and religious differences and married her - something that is perfectly fine, even wonderful and at the time of their marriage, Vance claims that both of them were agnostics and he also acknowledges how his wife played a pivotal role in encouraging him to get back to his Christian faith, although she herself is a Hindu and Vance then goes on to explain how helpful and loving his wife has been to him with her comforting and encouraging words whenever he was down in life. Finally, when questioned whether he would want his wife to become a Christian at some point in their lives, he explained that he truly does hope that at some point in their lives that she would see things the way he does and that to think otherwise is to have a hidden agenda against her in which he is right as I will explain below-

i) No negative words against Hinduism in JD Vance's response:

It is quite appalling and rebarbative how some people would go to such extraordinary lengths to strawman their opponents' statements to gaslight them based on what they said, as Leftists do to Republican Conservatives in the West. Leftists are so hateful and filled with disgust for anyone who disagrees with them including people who hold conservative Christian Republican views that they are willing to use the argument of another group such as the HAF (Hindu American Federation) to denigrate someone like Vance. The person who questioned Vance was a member of the HAF at one of Charlie Kirk's Turning Point USA meetings. However, it must be noted that Vance never said anything negative about Hinduism in his response to the one who questioned him on whether or not Vance expected his wife to become a Christian at a certain point in her life. On the contrary, Vance was most certainly right and forthcoming in pointing out to the questioner that only if a Christian man like himself wanted his spouse to remain in whichever non-Christian worldview to which she belonged, would it actually be tantamount to him having a hidden agenda for her which would not be in her best interests, this is particularly true considering Vance's Christian worldview that is profoundly anchored in the Bible which states that a person can end up in heaven in the afterlife only if he/she gives his/her heart to Christ and accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and personal Saviour, besides, why would any loving Christian husband not want his wife to be with him in heaven or which husband would want his wife to end up in hell and suffer there forever?, truth be told, no loving husband would want that. The point here is that in Vance's statement, he never insulted Hinduism or mentioned heaven or hell anywhere in his statement. Anyone like the HAF's spokesperson or Leftists seeking to find fault with Vance's clean statement in the affirmative to the question posed by his questioner is actually having an issue with Christianity per se and Christian doctrine and I will also expose their hypocrisy and double standards further below.

ii) Christianity is very straightforward in its core Gospel message as given in the Bible:

Christianity does not mince words with regard to its core message on salvation being a free gift offered to anyone yielding his/her heart to Christ alone. JD Vance was merely standing true to his beliefs as a Christian even in his wish to see his wife in the same faith as him when he hoped that she would see things as he does at some point in her life. If anyone has a problem with this statement as some Hindutuva proponents, their hatred is directed towards the core Gospel message which entails the exclusive nature of Salvation through Christ alone. Even otherwise, the name "Jesus" in Hebrew is the word "Yeshua" which happens to be the same word in Hebrew for "Salvation" as well. So when the angel Gabriel appeared to Joseph in a vision in Matthew 1:21, Gabriel tells Joseph to name Mary's firstborn son "Jesus ("Yeshua" meaning "Salvation" in Hebrew)" going on to explain that His name purports to indicate that Jesus' central role is to save His people from their sins. Hence, while Vance himself never stated anything negative about Hinduism, Christianity's message at its very core is exclusivist in nature implying salvation is a free gift for all of humanity only if every person reaches out to Christ in faith, accepting Jesus as his/her Lord and personal Saviour thereby internalising the gift of Salvation (Yeshua). Simply put, if you have Yeshua (Jesus) in your heart, you have salvation of your soul in the afterlife in heaven, if you don't have Yeshua (Jesus), you do not have Salvation because Yeshua which is Jesus' Hebrew name means "Salvation" per se further reinforcing the Gospel message that Salvation (Yeshua) is in Yeshua Hamashiach (Jesus the Messiah) alone because Jesus (Yeshua) Himself is the very embodiment of Salvation.

iii) Here is why Christians can never deny the exclusivist nature of Salvation in Christ in order to please followers of Eastern religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism etc:

While followers of far Eastern worldviews originating in India, China, Japan etc, tend to take exception to the exclusive nature of the core Christian message, it must be profoundly obvious to them that Christians will not seek to water down the core message of Christianity as they believe in it at a personal level just to make them feel more comfortable in their skin. Jesus said to His disciples "And ye shall be hated of all for my sake but he that endureth to the end shall be saved" (Matthew 10:22-24) also Jesus' words in

Matthew 10:34-40

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Matthew 1:34-40 clearly shows that when people belonging to families of various religious beliefs choose to follow Christ, a sword would literally separate them from their family members because of their family members' inability to accept them by virtue of their choice to follow Christ in the face of much opposition and strife originating from those other non-Christian family members themselves. Moreover, for a Christian to nod his/her head in assent to a statement along the lines of "All religions will lead to heaven" or "All people irrespective of whichever religion they belong to will end up in heaven" is basically going back on his/her choice to accept Jesus as the One true living God and his/her personal Lord and Saviour which no Christian in his/her right senses will do because it is akin to becoming an apostate of the Christian faith, should a Christian agree with such statements.

iv) Christianity is NOT the only worldview to make exclusive truth claims:

Christianity is by no means the only faith to make exclusivist truth claims because there are others that also do the same. In the light of the above fact, it makes no sense why people not just in India but around the world look askance or give a knee-jerk reaction showcasing their discomfort or even outright irritation the moment someone known to them brings up the name Jesus and are also very vocal about it unlike in the case of other worldviews making exclusive truth claims.

v)  The double-standards of HAF when its spokesperson asked why Vance was not more into his wife's religion and yet seems to have a problem with his well-intended hope to see his wife with him and Jesus in heaven:

The HAF's spokesperson asked why Vance was not more open to his wife's religion when it came to thinking along the lines of seeing himself converting to it (while not openly admitting it but saying quite the opposite regarding his/her wishes for Vance) instead of hoping to see his wife become a Christian at some point in her life. For starters, I doubt that JD Vance as a devout and zealous Christian would ever think along the lines of the HAF's spokesperson's expectations of how he should have reacted from his perspective. In my personal opinion, it would be hypocritical for the HAF's spokesperson to have issues with Vance's hopes of expecting his wife to see things the way Vance does in matters of faith while the spokesperson surrepticiously hopes that Vance should ideally have been willing to explore his wife's religion with a view to convert to it eventually, something that he/she never hesitated to express (while stating an end-goal contrary to what he secretly hoped within as many gurus and others going to the West to gain converts to Hinduism would while not admitting it openly). The double-standards of the HAF's spokesperson is blindingly evident when the said person and others like him/her have issues with Christianity's core message which truthfully and overtly states that Salvation is in Christ alone necessitating any person wanting to enter heaven to accept Christ as his/her Lord and personal Saviour whereas the HAF's spokesperson expects Vance to consider exploring his wife's religion with the eventual end goal of seeing him convert to it while accusing Vance of his personal hopes as a Christian to see his wife become a Christian as well with the same breath. This is how some worldviews tend to turn people into celebrities the moment they convert to them as a USP to propagate their own worldview. However, when a celebrity or anyone in high position becomes a Christian, he/she is often looked at with a spectrum of negative emotions from indifference and mockery to even hatred by people from a myriad of worldviews from Western Leftists to ones belonging to some Middle and far Eastern religious or political worldviews.

In short, the Bible is straightforward in its message of Salvation in Christ alone and Vance too stated openly that he had hopes of seeing his wife become a Christian like him one day as any devout Christian who loves Jesus should in line with Jesus' Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Vance was merely acting in good faith as a truthful Christian and also was acting in his wife's best interests as a loving husband when viewed from his Christian perspective and wish to see her in heaven with him which would require her to see things the way he does in matters of faith. If people have a problem with the above message, that is their personal problem and they are free to say no to the message if someone preaches it to them and they do not like it, since no true Christian ever forces people to accept Christ or gives incentives to convert him/her to Christianity because if someone converts for anything in return, such a person can be won back with a greater amount of incentives or whatever but such a person would make a poor believer of any faith. However, as per the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20, no Christian is exempt from the need to get the Gospel message out to friends, foes and strangers alike while praying for them to come to Jesus eventually without force or compulsion.
